Charming story of Ben, a brewery horse who is 'retired' to the country after years of pulling drays on London's hard streets cause him to develop problems with side bones. As a farm horse, Ben leads a productive life, much valued by Mr. Comyn, the farmer. An interesting look at a year on an English farm pre World War II. Very soft bump at top corner of pages, some light finger marks and soft wrinkles from handling on some pages, light edge wear, light wrinkling to top/bottom of spine, small soft bump to top corner of boards, a few light soiling and rub marks on rear board, color of title lettering on spine has faded.
