Disposing convincingly of several accepted myths, the authors take full advantage of recently released secret World War II documents from British government archives and of the Japanese 'Official History', which gives a fascinating view of the Japanese side of this devastating battle. Light browning to fore-edge of text block, pages 205 to 226 have either a tiny dint/tear/hole at top edge - page 223/4 has an open small tear, pages 209 to 254 have a tiny dint at bottom edge - some also have a tiny hole, very light wrinkling at top/bottom edge of spine. Dust jacket has light browning, crease on front flap, light edge wear/wrinkling at top/bottom of spine and flap-folds, area of tiny holes on both flap-folds.
