4 volumes, consecutively paged to page 1,212, 8vo (8 11/16" H), hard covers (maroon cloth with gold lettering on spines), in dust jackets. Profusely illustrated with b&w and color photographs. "These pictorial encyclopaedias provide a unique refer ence and a means of quick and easy recognition of cacti and succulents. Every plant illustrated is captioned with its name, together with the Botanical Authority, country of origin, notes on colour, size and general cultivation. The info r m a t i o n i s intended to be non-technical and readily understood by the average collector who follows the hobby for pleasure yet wishes to know a little more...." Light to moderate edge wear to all volumes, light wrinkling at top or bottom o f sp in es o f th r ee v olumes, three very tiny corner bumps, slight discoloration to color on top of textblock of volume one - light migration into top of last few pages, small area of discoloration on top of textblock of volume three, volumes o ne an d t wo are s lig ht ly cra cked in several places, wrinkling to rear pastedown of volume two, light stain line at fore-edge of free front endpaper in volume three, minor browning to rear pastedown in volume four. Dust jackets - three are pr ice cli pped , a ll h ave mod era te edge wear with surface paper loss - mainly at top/bottom of spine and flap-folds, light edge wrinkling, some areas of light browning, some light rubbing and soiling, corner crease on rear flap of volume four, slig ht fa ding to c olor on s pine of v olu me on e.
