A 1939 gift incription on the front pastedown, a 1/2" split to the paper of the inside front hinge, very light browning in the margins of the pages, browning to the edges of the text block including a few scattered foxing marks, two very small ink marks in the fore-edge of the text block, light lean to the spine, a slight separation between the page gatherings at page 64 - pages holding firmly in the binding, wrinkling at the top/bottom of the spine, light soiling on the boards, shallow bump at the bottom edge of the rear board, light wear at the corners. Dust jacket has several pieces missing and some large tears taped on the inside, soiling and one or two light stains, light browning on the spine and flap-folds, now protected in removable Brodart sleeve.
