63 pp, 9 1/4" H. "A portfolio of (b&w) cartoons drawn on the Italian battle front especially for The Maple Leaf, Canadian Army newspaper". As a sargeant with the 4th Princess Louise Dragoon Guards, the 32-year-old cartoonist participated in the invasion of Sicily and served through four months of the Italian Campaign before joining the Maple Leaf staff in January of (1944). Soft creases at the corners of the pages, tiny piece missing at the bottom corner of the first two pages, tiny tear with crease at top edge of last page - archivally taped, light toning to pages, previous owner's name at the top of the front cover. Covers have light to moderate edge wear, light soiling, some tiny light stains, creases/wear at corners.
