Unpaginated (approx. 50 pp, printed on one side only with versos blank), 11" H x 7 1/8" W. "Velvet Calf" (soft leather) front cover with letter/decoration in gilt, card rear cover, stud fasteners. 12 tipped in colour plates of North American wild flowers. All pages have gold decorative borders. Each month is preceded by an illustration, describing the flower's preferred habitat, flowering season and distribution throughout the United States and Canada, and a poetic quotation, except for January where the illustration is on the title page. Then, depending on the amount of flora blooming that month, there is either further related poetry or "Wild flowers that are to be found in the Month of ____ And the locality in which you will find them." A charming Arts & Crafts style production. Interior - sharp crease/almost a tear across the top (tipped-in) edge of first colour plate, simulated silk paper covering is missing from the inside of the front cover - small pieces are left and still glued to the edges, creases at top corner of front free endpaper and the title page, light browning to title page, five page leaves have a rease at the top corner, small tear at fore-edge of rear free endpaper - archivally taped. Exterior - moderate wear to edges of rear board - also some small stains and one corner bump, front leather cover has some small areas of rubbing and areas of colour fading - also light edge wear with a tiny edge tear and tiny chip, light browning to edges of text block.
