94 pp, 8vo (8 1/8" H) - dark green cloth with gold lettering on front board. B&w photographs, maps, diagram. "The ferns of the Ottawa District have been under study for over 75 years. Several lists of species found in the District have been prepared but no flora with keys and descriptions has ever been published. An attempt is made here to bring together the known information on the ferns of this region and to provide a means by which interested persons maybe come familiar with them. For the purposes of this manual the Ottawa District is defined as the circular area surrounding the City of Ottawa, Ontario, and having a radius of 30 miles. Although the area under consideration is limited, the information is applicable to a much wider area of Ontario and Quebec." Interior - minor foxing on endpapers, light staining in top margin of pages 49 to 54, and at top of free front endpaper. Exterior - browning and light staining to top of textblock, minor soiling to boards, light edge wear, tiny bump at corners.
