xii, 100 pp, 24mo (5 3/4" H). Yellow paper-covered boards, reproducing the illustration from the original 1833 edition (as does the dust jacket), cream-coloured cloth spine. B&w illustrations, black borders to pages. Signed "Harriet Blackstone C. Butler" at the bottom of the Introduction and with a quotation in the same hand on the front free endpaper, dated 1929. This facsimile of the 1833 "Mother Goose" begins with a "History of the Goose Family", which claims an American origin for the collection of nursery rhymes. Light browning to endpapers, slight toning to pages, slight variation to colour of boards, very light wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, some wear at corners, tiny chip at top edge of rear board, two tiny areas of glue on rear hinge. Dust jacket has old tape repair on inside of flap-folds, split at top half of front flap-fold, very small and tiny chips at top/bottom of spine and flap-folds, some darkening to spine and flap-folds, now protected in a mylar sleeve.
