152 pp, 8 1/4" H. B&w map, photograph. Signed by author on title page (signature only). "West Kerry was to experience equal, if not worse devastation (than Connacht and West Cork) during the Famine. Due to the remoteness of Dingle and the townlands west of the town it received much less publicity. The reports that are available of what the people had to endure are horrific, indicating a district, which was to be completely neglected during a period of extreme suffering." From the Introduction. Interior - tiny crease at top/bottom corner of approx first 25 pages, small soft crease/curl to bottom corner of approx. first 36 pages, otherwise clean and tight with no other ownership marks. Exterior - small crease at corners of front cover, very small crease at bottom corner of rear cover, small black mark at bottom of spine - from manufacturing process.
