144 pp, 9 1/4" H. No date. Light green boards with gilt lettering on spine, b&w illustrations. Inscribed on half title page: "For Robert / With Best Wishes / Enid F D'Oyley / Sept 19, 1980". "Two young black Canadian girls spend a memorable summer vacation with their parents in the West Indies and discover the joys and frustrations of adjusting to a new environment and a growing awareness of their own identity. This story for young people introduces, with dramatic illustrations by the famous Jamaican artist Albert Huie, glimpses of Jamaica's past, her people, her history, her culture, old fashioned sugar making, crab hunting at night, escovitch fish and pear, sweet potato pie - - ." Very light browning to edges of text block and edges of boards, small faint stain on fore-edge of text block. Dust jacket has wear and tiny chip/small tears (archivally taped) at top/bottom of spine and flap-folds - light edge wear elsewhere, small line indentation on spine, small closed tear on rear flap-fold.
