Title page continues: "In the Provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, British Columbia, and the North West Territories; and General Information, Drawn from Official Sources, as to the Names, Locality, Extent, etc., of over Fifteen Hundred Lakes and Rivers, with a Table of Routes, Showing the Proximity of the Railroad Stations, and Sea, Lake and River Ports, to the Cities, Towns, Villages, etc., in the Several Provinces." Black cloth with gold lettering/decoration on spine, gold crest on front board. Laid in at front is a partial column newspaper clipping dated 1874, calling for proposals for "the erection of a line of telegraph along the general route of the Canadian Pacific Railway". Some small areas of surface paper loss on inside hinges, very light browning to pages, light water stain at fore-edge of rear endpapers, browning to edges of text block, light to moderate edge wear, moderate wrinkling to cloth on boards, light soiling/rubbing.
