First published as Volume One of Travels Through the Interior Parts of North America, by Thomas Anburey. Edited and with an introduction by Sydney Jackman, FR.Hist.S." "When Burgoyne finally sets out along the Richelieu Valley for Ticonderoga, the author reveals himself as a superb war correspondent. His account of military engagements is tempered with many personal glimpses into the lives of soldiers at war in a strange and forbidding land." Interior - place, date and signature in pencil on one preliminary page; otherwise clean and tight with no other ownership marks. Exterior - very light browning to edges of text block, light soiling/staining at top/bottom of text block, light rubbing, light edge wear, soft crease on rear cover, two small corner creases on front cover.
