This book was probably originally issued in wraps, and rebound soon after in this hard cover format. Among the issues covered in this report: Accidents; Hamilton, Annexation of Burlington Beach to; Radial Railway strike; London, Street Railway, Repair of; Niagara Falls Electric Light Extension By-law; St. Thomas Street Railway, Examiner of Motormen; Toronto, vs. Toronto Railway Company (lavatories, etc.), etc. Interior - company stamp on free front endpaper and at top of title page, endpapers very light browned and soiled, pages very lightly browned at margins. Exterior - wear at corners of boards, light to moderate edge wear, wear and small piece missing at top/bottom of spine, small bump at top of rear cover, browning to edges of textblock, a few tiny scuffs, light waviness to parts of cloth on rear board . Two areas of light soiling in margins of page 43, small split in paper and a few areas of browning on inside front hinge, small crease at top corner of pages 13 to 18, light edge wear to boards, small piece missing at top/bottom of leather spine, tiny scuffs and rubbing on spine, figure 3 in date on spine is faded, boards have areas of slight discoloration, a few tiny foxing marks on edges of text block.

Linen-backed paper map in colour - 2' 9" wide by 4' 3" high - Wellington County, Ontario showing townships: Minto, Arthur, West Luther, Maryborough, Peel, Pilkington, Nichol, West Garafraxa, Guelph, Eramosa, Erin & Puslinch, with Woolwich, Waterloo & Nassagaweya (Halton) as at 1910. Schools, Post Offices, Railway Stations, Steam & Electric Railways, County Roads and Concessions are indicated. A 'Statistics' table at top right gives 'Year first settled', 'Acreages assessed', 'Population' and 'Total assessed value' for selected townships/towns/villages. The paper map was printed in sections and mounted on linen to facilitate folding and plain beige card stock was attached to the front & back of the folded map (folded dimensions approx. 5" W x 8 3/4" H). A previous owner has written 'Wellington County' in pencil on one of the cards. Light edge wear and corner wear, light wear at horizontal folds and a few tiny tears in paper, minor to very small areas of map detail are missing at fold intersections, minor browning to paper. Linen is in good condition with scattered soiling and small foxing marks, one or two larger light stains - do not effect map detail.

63, (3) pp + b&w plates and folding map at rear, 9 1/2" H. White spine with gilt lettering, brown paper-covered board with gilt lettering/decoration, black & gilt crest on front board, brown endpapers. 27 b&w plates with tissueguards bearing captions in red. An annotated timetable of the route taken by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII/Duke of Windsor) on the Grand Trunk Railway through Ontario and Quebec in 1919. The Foreword gives a brief history of the Grand Trunk Railway/Grand Trunk Pacific Railway and the book closes with a list of directors, etc. of company. The illustrations show scenes in the areas through which the prince was to pass; towns, buildings, bridges, locomotives, etc. Does not contain pictures of the actual visit. Some separation between some page gatherings but still holding firmly in binding, one illustration page has a small edge tear archivally taped, several corner creases on two od the map folds, scattered very tiny foxing marks on gilt decoration - mainly near fore-edge of front board, minor soiling on boards.

Mr. McCrea's scale models of agricultural, domestic and industrial buildings, implements and tools, as well as bridges, fences, gates, etc. add another dimension to the study of pioneer life.
