315 pp, 341 pp, 356 pp, 8 3/8" H - 3 volume set, without the original slipcase. Part of the Coles Canadiana Collection - a facsimile reprint of the Saunders and Otley, London, 1838 edition. The journals of Anna Jameson. "While in Canada, I was thrown into scenes and regions hitherto undescribed by any traveller, (for the northern shores of Lake Huron are almost new ground,) and into relations with the Indian tribes, such as few European women of refined and civilised habits have ever risked, and none have recorded. My intention was to have given the result of what I had seen, and the reflections and comparisons excited by so much novel experience." Interiors - clean and tight with no previous ownership marks. Exteriors - very minor edge wear.

Maroon boards with black title block, gold lettering/banding on spine, golde lettering/banding on front board. Anna Jameson's account of her travels in Upper Canada, by sleigh, steamboat, canoe, stage coach, etc., gives firsthand impressions of the people and places, including much information on the native people she encountered. Light wrinkling at top of spine, minor corner wear.
