Linen-backed paper map in colour - 2' 9" wide by 4' 3" high - Wellington County, Ontario showing townships: Minto, Arthur, West Luther, Maryborough, Peel, Pilkington, Nichol, West Garafraxa, Guelph, Eramosa, Erin & Puslinch, with Woolwich, Waterloo & Nassagaweya (Halton) as at 1910. Schools, Post Offices, Railway Stations, Steam & Electric Railways, County Roads and Concessions are indicated. A 'Statistics' table at top right gives 'Year first settled', 'Acreages assessed', 'Population' and 'Total assessed value' for selected townships/towns/villages. The paper map was printed in sections and mounted on linen to facilitate folding and plain beige card stock was attached to the front & back of the folded map (folded dimensions approx. 5" W x 8 3/4" H). A previous owner has written 'Wellington County' in pencil on one of the cards. Light edge wear and corner wear, light wear at horizontal folds and a few tiny tears in paper, minor to very small areas of map detail are missing at fold intersections, minor browning to paper. Linen is in good condition with scattered soiling and small foxing marks, one or two larger light stains - do not effect map detail.

All pages have gold decorative borders. Each month is preceded by an illustration, describing the flower's preferred habitat, flowering season and distribution throughout the United States and Canada, and a poetic quotation, except for January where the illustration is on the title page. Then, depending on the amount of flora blooming that month, there is either further related poetry or "Wild flowers that are to be found in the Month of ____ And the locality in which you will find them." A charming Arts & Crafts style production. Interior - sharp crease/almost a tear across the top (tipped-in) edge of first colour plate, simulated silk paper covering is missing from the inside of the front cover - small pieces are left and still glued to the edges, creases at top corner of front free endpaper and the title page, light browning to title page, five page leaves have a rease at the top corner, small tear at fore-edge of rear free endpaper - archivally taped. An annotated timetable of the route taken by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII/Duke of Windsor) on the Grand Trunk Railway through Ontario and Quebec in 1919. The Foreword gives a brief history of the Grand Trunk Railway/Grand Trunk Pacific Railway and the book closes with a list of directors, etc. of company. The illustrations show scenes in the areas through which the prince was to pass; towns, buildings, bridges, locomotives, etc. Does not contain pictures of the actual visit. Some separation between some page gatherings but still holding firmly in binding, one illustration page has a small edge tear archivally taped, several corner creases on two od the map folds, scattered very tiny foxing marks on gilt decoration - mainly near fore-edge of front board, minor soiling on boards.

Interior - a few small light foxing marks - mainly in lower margin of last two pages, minor soiling, a few soft wrinkles to pages. Exterior - light edge wear on spine, one small corner crease, moderate rubbing/soiling on rear cover. VG-
