2 volume set. "The Buchanan Book", privately printed, Montreal, 1911in a limited edition of 300 copies. This is No. 240 and is *unsigned*, contrary to the limitation statement. Dark blue cloth with paper title label on spine, top edge gilt, (v)-xiii, 476 pp, + Appendix (5 pp), Index (viii pp), 9 5/8" H. Addenda et Corrigenda sheet laid in. Thirteen tissue-covered b&w portraits, including frontispiece (collated). Contents: Life of Alexander Buchanan, Q.C., of Montreal; The Buchanans of that Ilk; The Buchanans of Blairlusk; James Buchanan, H.B.M. "The Buchanan Book" has very small bump to fore-edge of pages 405 to end of book, minor edge wear, minor rubbing to boards, light run marks to top edge gilt. "Later Leaves of the Buchanan Book" - page 6 has some small light soiling marks including a small area of red ink in margin, some page edges have wrinkles and very small chips, the top/bottom edges of text block are not trimmed, there is wrinkling/creasing to edges of covers and top/bottom of spine - there are also tiny tears, light soiling to covers.

434 pp, 7 3/8" H. Dark blue cloth with gilt lettering on spine and front board, black borders and decoration on front board, blindstamped decoration on rear board. No date, but includes the Preface to the Second Edition dated 1856. Six b&w illustrations, including frontispiece (collated). Contents: The Public Green; Carmyle and Kenmure; Cambuslang and Dychmont; Blantyre and Bothwell; Rutherglen and Cathkin; Cathcart and Langside; Pollokshaws and Its Environs; Eaglesham and Lochgoin; The Earn, Mearns Castle, and Moorhouse; Barrhead and Neilston; Cardonald and Crookston; Paisley and Its Environs; Gleniffer and Elderslie; Govan, Renfrew, and Inchinnan; Partick and Kelvin Grove; Duntocher and Old Kilpatrick; New Kilpatrick and the Whangie; Milngavie and Strathblane; Baldernock and Balmore; Kirkintilloch and Campsie; Robroyston, Auchinloch, and Chryston. Very light browning to margins of pages, browning to edges of text block, light wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, very light edge wear. Book is protected in a stiff mylar sleeve.
