632 pp, 16mo (6 1/8" H), thin burgundy leather over card covers/spine - gold lettering and decoration on spine, top edge gilt - in slipcase. Burgundy endpapers, b&w plates, including frontispiece, decorated title page. When Henry Gow, an armourer, foils a plot to abduct the beautiful Catharine Glover in 15th century Perth, Scotland, he becomes embroiled in royal plots and a highland feud. Light toning in margins of pages, moderate browning to fore-edge and bottom of text block, a few tiny rub marks on covers, light fading to spine colour, minor edge wear. Slipcase has very light edge wear, slight fading at front edges, darker colouring on edge of bottom panel.
