311 pp , 16mo (6 1/8" H), thin burgundy leather over card covers/spine - gold lettering and decoration on spine, top edge gilt - in slipcase. Burgundy endpapers, b&w frontispiece. When scientists experiment with a new food that increases the size of chickens dramatically, it is only a short time before it is tried out on children. Years later the 'giants' and the rest of the English population are at loggerheads and battles ensue as each try to find their place in the future. Reprint of the book originally published in 1904. Previous owner's small stamp mark on back of front free endpaper, two small ink letters at top corner of half-title page, very light edge wear. Slipcase has light edge wear, light rubbing, moderate wear at rear corners and split at rear bottom edge.
