352 pp, 8 1/8" H. Red cloth with black lettering on spine, gilt lettering and black illustration on front board, top edge brown. 12 colour plates (including frontispiece) - collated. B&w head- and tail-pieces. Orange & white pictorial endpapers. The North Wind is not pleased when a little boy, Diamond, tries to block the holes that let her into his hayloft bedroom - so they come to an agreement that sees her take him on adventures during the night. An allegorical tale of good & evil, poverty, ethics, life & death. Very small gift inscription on verso of free front endpaper, very light toning in margins of pages, very small crease at top edge of page leaf 119/120, light fading to spine colour, light edge wear, light wrinkling at top/bottom of spne, light browning on edges of text block - darker on top, scattered very light insect damage to edges of text block, two minor corner bumps, light loss of colour at fore-edge of rear board, two small liquid stains on front board, light soiling on boards. Book is protected in a stiff mylar sleeve.
