430 pp, 9 1/8" H. Blue cloth with faded gilt lettering on spine, gilt lettering/banding and black decoration on front board. Pictorial endpapers, six colour plates (including frontispiece - collated), plus many b&w illustrations through text. Tales of naval combat between Great Britain and the United States during the War of 1812, by the author of "In the Wake of the Eighteen-Twelvers". A few scattered light foxing marks throughout book, a few pages with small edge tears (mostly at bottom edge) - archivally taped, some creases on rear pastedown, small tear at bottom of rear inside hinge, small bump to bottom corner of pages and to bottom of page dutters, slight lean to spine, light browning to edges of text block, a few tiny dents to top/bottom of text block, light to moderate edge wear, wear and a few very small tears at top/bottom of spine, light rubbing and soiling to boards and spine, light fading to gold lettering on boards and spine.
