248 pp, 9 1/4" H. B&w photographs. "Between July 1950 and August 1955, when the last Royal Canadian Navy ship returned home from Korea, a total of eight Canadian destroyers performed twenty-one single tours of duty manned by more than 6,000 sailors. In recounting the efforts of the many who served in those almost forgotten ships, (the author) depicts a navy at mid-century, determined to assert its distinct Canadian identity. His is an account of a war viewed from the vantage point of the lower deck; of one whose own experiences and those of his shipmates are testimony to the fact that those who served with the RCN in Korea acquitted themselves admirably and in a manner that has long deserved the recognition and respect of all Canadians." Book is Fine. Dust jacket has very minor rubbing and a few very faint line indentations on rear panel.
