128 pp, 11 3/8" H. "(A) unique and comprehensive look at what Canadians were reading, wearing, buying and doing during the years 1939 to 1945. It contains over 450 illustrations of war time memorabilia, many of which are in colour and all of which merit a second or third look. There are excerpts from newspapers and periodicals; examples of wartime regulations, cartoons and advertising. There is a wartime crossword puzzle and some wonderful nostalgic song sheet covers. There are numerous samples of wartime mail (including postcards, Christmas cards, patriotic envelopes, V-mail and censorship markings), ration tickets, savings stamp books, recruiting posters, matchbook covers and blotters. For the kids, there are wartime toys and games, bubblegum cards and the Canadians whites." Book has slight cocking, tiny scuff on rear board, minor wrinkling at top/bottom of spine. Dust jacket has light edge wear, wrinkling at top edge, light fading to color on front panel and on spine, light rubbing on rear panel, small ghost sticker mark on front panel.
