It embraces all aspects of University and College life and institutions and comprises more than 10,000 entries. The compilers are both members of the staff of the Bodleian and they have systematically explored its vast resources as well as taking account of other likely repositories of Oxford material. In addition to books, the Bibliography includes articles from a large number of periodicals and records a mass of eighteenth and nineteenth century ephemeral literature which reflects University policy and politics, and which is probably unknown and unavailable outside the Bodleian."
