Unpaginated (approx. 62 pp.), small 4to (10 15/16" H), hard cover (rebound in cloth boards with original front cover attached to front board) - no dust jacket. Ex-library. Profusely illustrated with b&w photographs. "*Nicht Wahr? = German equival ent of 'Isn't it true?'." "The pictures in this book stem from propaganda booklets widely distributed during the occupation. The narratives by Curzio Malaparte are from his book 'Kaputt'. They depict the horror of those years as well as t h e G e r m a n state of mind. From smiling children to torturers....the question remains: can we turn into assassins provided we are given proper training and faith to put into practice?...." This is an ex-library book with a few number stamp s , la be l a nd c ol le ge stamp - no library pocket at rear; four pages with a very small light stain(s), crease down free front endpaper, light rubbing and soiling to boards, label residue at bottom of spine/hinge areas, light edge wear, light wr in kli ng at to p/b ott om of spine, one small corner bump.
