319 pp, large 8vo (9 7/8" H), hard cover (brown cloth with gold lettering on spine and front board) - no dust jacket. B&w photographs, tables. Contents: Summary of Conclusions; Fire Waste in General; Statistical Survey of Fire Waste and Fire Protection in Canada; The Community Fire Hazard; Building Construction and Fire Prevention; Standardization and Testing of Structural Materials and Devices; Private Fire Protection; Municipal Fire Protection; Fire Insurance as Affecting Fire Waste; Appendices - Notable Conflagrations in Canada; Need of Provincial Legislation Governing Building Construction; Fire Conditions in New Ontario; Fire Prevention in Germany; Index. Interior - Some splitting to paper (re-glued) on inside hinges - holding firmly, light foxing to endpapers - mainly at rear, tiny tear/crease at top of free front endpaper, otherwise clean and tight with no other ownership marks. Exterior - light to moderate edge wear; light rubbing; slight corner bumps; wrinkling and tiny tear at top/bottom of spine; rear board has several very small rubs, dints at top/bottom edges, small scuff/wear on fore-edge, line indentation down middle. Good reference copy only.
