"The Glasgow Colonial Society was a voluntary association of members of the Church of Scotland, founded in 1825 to provide clergy for Britain's North American colonies but dissolved about 1840 because of policy change on the part of the Church. The corres-pondence received by the Society from the settlements constitutes an extensive and interesting source for the social and religious history of the pre-Confederation colonial period." Interior - clean, bright and tight with no previous ownership marks. Exterior - slight bowing to boards, a few very faint marks on bottom of textblock.
