172 pp, 8vo (8 7/8" H), hardcover in pale brown slipcase. B&w illus by Alexy Pendle. Bound in quarter orange/brown buckram with a design in black and gold by Malcolm Harvey Young, pale pink paper boards with border in brown; pale pink endpapers with Barsetshire map in brown. This binding, with differences in color, was used as a series binding for the Folio Society Edition of the Novels of Anthony Trollope. "The Warden was first published in 1855 by Longman, Brown, Green, and Longmans. The text of this edition follows that of the first edition, with minor emendations." The first of the Barsetshire novels, introducing the Warden, Hiram's Hospital, Dr. Grantly, etc. Two soft creases at top corner of first few pages up and including the title page. Slipcase has minor rubbing. Very Good/Very Good+
