311 pp, small 8vo (7 5/8" H), hard cover (light grey/green boards with navy blue lettering on spine and front board) - no dust jacket. Patterned endpapers. A fictionalized look at Germany and the German army at the end of World War I. Contents: I n Prison Camp; Break-Up of the Old Army; The Army of Security; Against the Intelligence Corps; The Socialization; As Assistant to the Castle Commander; Disbandment of the Army of Security; With the Security Police During the Kapp Putsch; In th e P o l i ce Recruiting Office. Interior - endpapers browning lightly, otherwise clean and tight with no previous ownership marks. Exterior - light edge wear, one tiny corner crease, faint small water splashes on boards, light rubbing, light wrin kl i ng a t to p/bottom of spine, edges of textblock browning. G+

A fictionalized account of the author's experiences on the Western Front during World War I. Contents: The Advance; The Trench War - In the Trenches before Chailly; The Battle of the Somme; Wounded; The Aisne-Champagne Battle, 1917; The Trench War, 1917-18; The March Offensive, 1918; Collapse. Very light browning to front endpapers, soft wrinkle on half-title p a g e , light waviness in bottom margin of approx. pages 310 to 330, minor soiling and a few tiny foxing marks on edges of textblock, soiling to boards and spine - 2" dia. light stain on front board and faint watermark on spine.
