1 Everett-Heath, John. SOVIET HELICOPTERS: DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND TACTICS.
Jane's, London, 1983, first edition.
179 pp, large 8vo (9 1/2" H), hard cover in dust jacket. ISBN 0710602596 B&w photographs, drawings. "(T)he first comprehensive account of the development of Soviet helicopters and autogiros in which can be found details of the highly publicized M i-24 'Hind' and the barely known Ka-22 'Hoop', the tiny Ka-8 'Flying Motorcycle' and the massive Mi-26 'Halo'. The book is not just a description of rotary-wing types over the last 50 years however; it also treats in depth the evolution of Soviet m ilitary helicopter tactics, the process from research to production, and Soviet design philosophy. Brief biographies are given of the men who shaped the course of rotary-wing development within the USSR. The text is supported by selected photogr ap hs and line drawings, and five appendices which give a wealth of factual data at a glance. A useful feature is the comparison betwen Soviet and contemporary Western types in the data tables at the end of each chapter." Small bump at top corner of rear board. Dust jacket has light edge wear/wrinkling - mainly at top/bottom of spine and flap-folds, light rubbing, small light scratch on rear panel. Very Good/Very Good
