Tiny crease at top of half-title page, soft crease at bottom corner of approx. pages 30 - 188 (more noticeable between pages 150 -188), very light edge wear. Dus t jacket has light edge wrinkling, soft creasing to top 3" of spine, slight fading to spine color. Very Good-/Very Good-

"One of the most glittering of the glittering ornaments of his generation at Eton and Oxford, all the great prizes seemed within reach of the young Ronald Arbuthnott Knox. Then came war, his friends fell i n battle, and in 1917 Ronald, by now Anglican Chaplain at Trinity College, became a Roman Catholic. There followed years in the shadows as he came to grips with the ethos of the Catholics, until he emerged again in Oxford in 1926 as Roman Catholi c Chaplain. From then until his death in 1957 Ronald Knox enjoyed a reputation as master of many literary forms, as scholar, wit, artist and translator, at home in common rooms and patrician country houses, yet known to millions for his broadcasti ng .
