The military autobiography of Sir Evelyn Wood, covering roughly the period from the Crimean War, through the Indian Mutiny, Ashanti, th e Zulu War, and the Sudan and closing with duty back in England up to 1903. Interior - book cracked at pages xii/1 and at pages 48/49, slightly cracked at pages 544/545, pages browning very lightly, fore-edge of one fold-out map is browned/w r i n k l e d and has tiny tears, minor to light soiling to some pages, 1 1/2" stain at bottom of page 328 - text still legible. Exterior - small bump and wear at corners, light wear to edges/bottom of textblock, light rubbing/soiling, fading to s pi ne c ol or - g old decoration and lettering still legible, wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, small tear at bottom of spine.
