After equipping with Blenheims it specialized in daylight operations. It engaged in the first raid of the w ar. After taking part in the Norweigan campaign, it was thrown into the struggle to save France. Heavy losses ensued during operations demanding great courage. A hazardous anti-shipping campaign took the Group to Malta. Night intruder oper a t i o n s were made against airfields, and fighter-escorted attacks on Occupied Territory continued until the 1944 Allied landings in France, where support to the invasion was subsequently given and an effective night interdictor campaign carried o ut . T he G roup mounted many spectacular operations, particularly when using Mosquitoes. This is indeed a story of immense courage.
