"The author develops his highly provocative theme - that women have always been subjected by men - in a sober argument backed by considerable evidence. He maintains that only physical strength has enabled men to domineer for so long, but that in constitution, resistance to disease and size of brain, women are far superior. Fewer women go insane or commit suicide; the legend of emotional instability is easily disproved; women are just a s g o o d as men at business. The traditional view of many points Dr Montagu cuts down with sharp, incisive wit.
