Author and former RCAF pilot J.A. Foster takes you to the beginning in 1909, just six years ater the success at Kitty Hawk, when the first manned flying machine to operate successfully within the British Empire flew at Baddeck, Nova Scotia. He documents the period between the wars when the Royal Canad ian Air Force was officially founded, through to the massive Canadian support in World War II, the Cold War and to the present, when detente means - perhaps unwisely - a reduction in air force personnel and units..." Minor wrinkle at bottom of s p i ne, rear board slightly bowed. Dust jacket has very minor edge wear, light edge wrinkling. VG+/VG+

During WWII, Canada grew from a 'Five trawler navy' to the third l argest in the world. After WWII, it dwindled to a small, ineffective force. This book is a tribute to the RCN's 75th anniversary. Very minor edge rubbing, minor waviness to fore-edge of textblock. Dust jacket has minor wrinkling at top of spin e and bottom of front hinge, very light browning on spine and on rear hinge area.
