112 pp, large 8vo, hard cover in dust jacket. Profusely illustrated with b&w photos. "...describes and illustates over 150 of the relatively few pieces of blue and white transfer ware that do bear the makers' mark. This will help dealers and coll ectors in their attempts to attribute other specimens. Great stress is also laid on the need to examine all characteristics of the pieces before identifying their makers - colour, glaze, shape, etcetera are fully considered. The captions to the p h otographs add much detailed information, and a great many new facts about transfer-printed pottery is included." Previous owners stamp and small areas of old tape residue on free front endpaper, edges of pages lightly browned, very slight smok e y od or, light wrinkling at top of spine. Dust jacket has minor edge wear, light edge wrinkling, is price-clipped, light browning to edges. VG-/VG
