221 pp, small 8vo (7 3/4" H), hard cover (brown cloth spine with gold lettering, brown paper-covered boards with black lettering and symbol on front board) - no dust jacket. B&w reproductions, genealogical chart. The life of Gilles de Rais, French nobleman of the Middle Ages, who descended into a life of devil worship, torture and mass murder which ended with his arrest and execution. Interior - small paperclip mark and tiny rust spec at top of free front endpaper and half-title page, light waviness to frontispiece, very light soiling on page 211, pages browning lightly. Exterior - wear at corners of boards, light edge wear elsewhere, very light rubbing. Good+
