1 McLean, Scott A., editor. (Sir Andrew Agnew.) FROM LOCHNAW TO MANITOULIN: A HIGHLAND SOLDIER'S TOUR THROUGH UPPER CANADA.
Toronto Natural Heritage 1999 189621956X / 9781896219561 Soft Cover Very Good
93 pp, 9" H. B&w reproductions, maps. Quote from Sir Crispin Agnew of Lochnaw on rear cover "I am pleased to hear that my great-grandfather's journal is to be made available to a wider public. I have always enjoyed reading of his exploits in Canada as an officer of the 93rd (Sutherland) Highlanders, an enlightened regiment in its day, which 'disapproves ploughing furrows in men's backs'. Stories of champagne made of parsnips, the Glengarry militia, 'shooting the rapids to Coteau du Lac' and of skirmishes in Canada were meat and drink to me, when I was a subaltern in the Royal Highland Fusiliers." Interior - minor soiling on blank page 80, very light wrinkling at fore-edge of pages 81 to end of book, otherwise clean and tight no other ownership marks. Exterior - very minor wear at corners of front cover, minor rubbing.
Price: 12.00 USD
