504 pp, 16mo (6 1/8" H), thin burgundy leather over card covers/spine - gold lettering and decoration on spine, top edge gilt, integral ribbon bookmark - in slipcase. Burgundy endpapers, sepiatone frontispiece (Sir Thomas More in the Tower) and double spread illustration (Charles I on the way to Execution). A history of England from the time of Julius Caesar's invasion to the beginning of Queen Victoria's reign, written for children. Tiny very light stain in margin of contents page, minor wear at corners of covers. Slipcase has light edge and corner wear, split in paper at top rear edge.
