346 pp + publisher's advertisements, 7 3/4" H. Dark green cloth with gilt lettering and decoration on spine and front board, all edges yellow/orange. Lovely b&w illustrations - 8 full page, including frontispiece (collated), plus many smaller illustrations throughout the text. Weaves together nature lore and fantasy, with Native American legends and wisdom. Contents: The Dream Fox; What Happened One Very Cold Day; Dr. Anne; The Signal; The Man of the Moon; What the Coal said to the Kindling Wood; Kayoshk', the Sea Gull; The Planting Moon; The Story of Bek-Wuk, the Arrow; The Widow Dog; Amoe, the Honey Bee; The Village in the Pond; The Shedding Dance; Wabeno's Gift. Previous owner's bookplate and a small area of glue residue on front pastedown, minor tiny foxing marks and slight toning to endpapers, tiny perforation at top of page 345, light edge wear, some light variation in color on edges of text block, some light shelf wear on bottom of text block, wrinkle in cloth across front board, some wrinkling and light wear at top/bottom of spine, a few very light rub marks on rear board. Protected in a stiff mylar sleeve.
