"This is a story of over 2,000 Canadians who joined the R.A.F. mainly before W.W. II. There is a biography on each, varying in length according to information available. The 35 short stories are included to give the reader a cross section of what happened in the Air Force In W.W. II. The stories are varied and mostly personal but are heroic, tragic, and bizarre and controversial. Also included are other statistics, information, incidents and events which will help some of those not directly involved to understand the operating of an air force." Includes 'Register of Hometowns'. Light soiling to fore-edge of text block, light wrinkling to top/bottom of text block, very small bump to bottom corner of bothe boards. Dust jacket has heavy wear on spine edges and on flap-folds, - light elsewhere, small chip at top/bottom of hinges and flap-folds, moderate rubbing with color loss - mostly on rear panel, several small edge tears, now protected in a mylar sleeve.
