282 pp, 8 7/8" H. Green cloth with gold lettering/banding on spine, blindstamped ship on front board. Map on front endpapers, b&w frontispiece, plates. Section headings: In the Wake of the Wind-Ships; Quebec's Shipping Era; The New Brunswickers; The Nova Scotia-men. Index. Previous owner's name stamp on front and rear pastedowns and at bottom of "forward" page, gift inscription on half-title page, light browning on rear free endpaper, browning to edges of text block, some shelf soiling on bottom of text block, dust staining to top of text block, light wrinkling at top/bottom of spine with one or two tiny tears, very light edge wear, one very small corner bump. Dust jacket has edge wear/creasing and small chips and tears, old tape along top/bottom inside edges, heavy browning on spine and moderate browning elsewhere, light rubbing, one or two small light stains, two creases on front panel pastedown picture.
