"This book is about ordinary dogs - dogs of character. In particular it charts the lives of Cracker and Micky, one an Irish Wolfhound, the other a Bull terrier. Wtih them as models Cecil Aldin plots a course for would-be dog owners and dog trainers. Where do you go to buy a dog, how do you set about trainin g h i m o r her, how do you cure bad habits , how do you feed your dog. All these questions are answered. But this book contains a good deal more. It is full of the most enchanting stories of dogs....It is full of advice and stories told by a r ea l l ov er of dogs and the advice is as true and revealing now as when the book was first published in 1927."
