742 pp, 4to (11 1/4" H), hard cover (teal blue boards with gold lettering and decoration of spine) - no dust jacket. Profusely illustrated in b&w with photographs, drawings and specification tables. "This book attempts to record the British aeroplanes that flew or were designed during the war years. It therefore includes notes on several types which were designed before the war and others which did not fly until after the Armistice...Aircraft types are listed in chronological sequence (as far as that can be determined) under each manufacturer's name. The only exceptions to this arrangement are the designs of the Royal Aircraft Factory: the main classes are arranged alphabetically, and the sub-types are arranged numerically in each class..." Indexed by: Aeroplanes; Engines; Manufacturers (Part I - Aircraft Manufacturers, Part II - Engine Manufacturers). Gift inscription and previous owners info. on front free endpaper, minor soiling on rear endpapers. Light edge wear to boards, light wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, tiny tear at top of spine, boards are rubbed/faintly scratched and have a few small areas of discoloration/soiling. VG-
