Monotone photographs of Toronto's churches, schools, government buildings, clubs, hospitals, residences, streetscapes, etc. at the turn of the 20th century. Interior - creases at bottom corner of page leaf 33/34, soft crease at top margin of all pages, staples have rusted and stained inside center gutter, small soft bump to bottom corner of pages. Exterior - covers have soft creases at corners/top edge and light soiling; staples are rusty; very light wear on spine.

This book was probably originally issued in wraps, and rebound soon after in this hard cover format. Among the issues covered in this report: Accidents; Hamilton, Annexation of Burlington Beach to; Radial Railway strike; London, Street Railway, Repair of; Niagara Falls Electric Light Extension By-law; St. Thomas Street Railway, Examiner of Motormen; Toronto, vs. Toronto Railway Company (lavatories, etc.), etc. Interior - company stamp on free front endpaper and at top of title page, endpapers very light browned and soiled, pages very lightly browned at margins. Exterior - wear at corners of boards, light to moderate edge wear, wear and small piece missing at top/bottom of spine, small bump at top of rear cover, browning to edges of textblock, a few tiny scuffs, light waviness to parts of cloth on rear board . Title page states "Fifth Edition" and below the publisher information, with the date 1893, "With Index and Directory Revised to 1902". All maps, including one in the rear pocket, are present. Includes an Introduction (Extent and History / Antiquities / Products and Manuacturers / Geology and Traveller's View / Main Roads / Railway Systems / Skeleton Tour / Places of Interest / An Artistic and Antiquarian Tour). Describes a variety of routes, radiating out from London, Hastings, "Tonbridge" Wells, Brighton, Horsham and Godalming, plus an Index. The title for the advertising section continues: "Containing Useful Information for Travellers, Railway and Steamboat Companies, Hotels and Miscellaneous Advertisements." Interior - very light browning to pages except 'advertiser' pages which have moderate browning, splits in paper in inside hinges and book is lightly cracked at two places but holding firmly, small crease at top corner of approx. pages 113 to 124. Exterior - light edge wear to covers, moderate wear and wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, heavy crease at top corner of front cover - migrates into pages up to page 20, light soiling and a few small air bubbles on covers, liquid stain and fading at top corner of front cover and small liquid mark at bottom of cover, browning to edges of text block.

Follows the then Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip on a cross country tour of Canada, with a diversion into United States for a short visit to Washington, D.C. The usual visits to provincial capitals, major industries, memorials, receptions, presentations and motorcades, but also shows the royal couple square dancing, getting wet at Niagara Falls, at a "ruby" game between Edmonton Eskimos and Winnipeg Blue Bombers, etc. Book is cocked, name and date in ink on free fron endpaper, light edge wear, slight darkening to edges of boards. Dust jacket has light to moderate edge wear/creasing, several small edge chips and tears, light to moderate rubbing, light browning at top edge of flaps, protected in a mylar sleeve.
