Each volume contains 40 full page colour plates (collated), plus many smaller b&w illustrations. The fourth volume contains a section entitled "Eggs and Egg-Collecting" by R. Kearton, plus Classified and General Indices to all four volumes. While owls, trains and mouse traps cause concern, there are also new friends to meet, parties to attend and foods to sample. In the end though, she deci d e s t h a t country life is the best.
