I WOULD DO IT AGAIN: REMINISCENCES OF THE ROCKIES., Campbell, Robert E. Foreword by T.U. "Tommy" Primrose.
1 Campbell, Robert E. Foreword by T.U. "Tommy" Primrose. I WOULD DO IT AGAIN: REMINISCENCES OF THE ROCKIES.
Toronto Ryerson Press 1959 First Edition Hard Cover Very Good- Good-
204 pp, 8 5/8" H. B&w photographs. "Urged many times to write the story of his life, Mr. Robert Campbell, now in his eighty-eighth year, finally acceded to the request. The result is this very readable book of reminiscence, rich in humour and history, adventure and anecdote, told by a master storyteller. In a breezy and colloquial style the author tells of his experiences in and around Banff, of his political life, experiences in the army during World War I, and his encounters with important visitors in the Canadian Rockies. This is not only a fascinating story, but a valuable record of early days when the Rockies were just beginning to attract attention as a tourist centre for the world." A few scattered very small light stains on page 49, light edge wear, small bump at three corners, very light wrinkling at top/bottom of spine. Dust jacket has light to moderate edge wear/wrinkling, creases at top of rear panel, several edge tears archivally taped, light rubbing/soiling.

293 pp + index, large 8vo (9 3/8" H). B&w photographs. "During the First World War, Canada never succeeded in forming her own air service. However, thousands of young Canadians served in the Royal Naval Air Service, the Royal Flying Corps, and, later, the Royal Air Force, playing a part out of all proportion to their country's population. Here, then, is the story of these men - not just the famous 'aces' such as Bishop, Barker, and Collishaw (though they are here too) - but of the other fighter pilots, the men who flew bombers, the Zeppelin and U-boat hunters, the indispensible observation aircraft pilots, and their observers." Previous owner's bookplate on half-title pages - caused waviness to page, minor edge wear to boards. Dust jacket has very light edge wear/wrinkling, one tiny edge tear.

4 Jameson, Sheilagh S. With Nola B. Erickson. CHAUTAUQUA IN CANADA.
Calgary, Alberta Glenbow-Alberta Institute 1979 0919224075 / 9780919224070 First Edition Hard Cover Very Good+ Very Good
161 pp, 9 3/8" H x 10 3/16" D. B&w photographs, reproductions. "Chautauqua brought education, inspiration, and entertainment to the people of Canada. They flocked to the brown tents - symbols of the movement - to hear noted lecturers, listen to good music, and see live theatre. To many in small towns across the prairies and in isolated areas it brought their only opportunity for a cultural experience; it brightened their lives by bringing a touch of drama, a glimpse of far away places and a sense of magic, and thus filled an important need in their lives. This book traces the history of its phenomenon in Canada. It touches on its beginnings in the United States and on the lives of its Canadian founders, John M. and Nola B. Erickson. The work of the Ericksons in developing Chautauqua, the activities of the many young people who assisted in operating the circuits, and the experiences of the talent who appeared on the platforms, are all a part of the story." Very light wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, tiny light stain on top of text block Dust jacket has light edge wear/wrinkling at top/bottom of spine and flap-folds, a few tiny edge tears archivally taped.
