Previous owner's chop (stamp) on free front endpaper, minor edge wear, very light browning to top of book. Dust jacket is price clipped, has four small areas of surface paper loss on front panel, light soiling. Very Good/Good+

Unpaginated, 10 1/4" H, hard cover in dust jacket. Profusely illustrated in colour. "It has been a good day for the little boy. He and his friend had played in the garden. There had been icy lemonade under the shade of the pear tree. And his fa ther had read him a story on the porch in the evening. Now his mother came to tuck him in bed. 'Why does the day have to end?' he asked. His mother showed him the pale sliver of moon rising above the pear tree. She told him the day must e n d s o n ight could begin, 'the night with moon and stars and darkness and quiet for you to have sweet dreams in'. 'But where does the sun go?' the boy asked. 'Where does the wind go when it stops?' 'Where does the dandelion fluff go when it bl ow s a wa y? ' T he questions and answers go on as the mother helps the boy to understand that nothing really ends, but only changes shape or form to become the beginning of something else. Reassured, the boy goes gladly to bed, full of the timele ss wo nd er of th e w orld around him." School name/address ink stamp on front endpapers, light fading to edges of boards, small dent on spine. Dust jacket has is price clipped, has several chips and tears - archivally taped, small dent on spine, lig ht edg e w rin kli ng, small area of green watercolor paint on front panel, minor browning.
