258 pp, 9 1/2" H. Red cloth with gilt lettering on spine, gilt lettering and round colour illustration on front board. Tissue-covered colour frontispiece and note by Stanley M. Arthurs, plus numerous b&w illustrations (full page, headpieces & tailpieces) by Howard Pyle (collated). Light browning to endpapers (mainly near gutter) and on back of frontispiece, light toning in margins of pages, large soft corner crease on free rear endpaper, a few pages with a small red dye stain in top margin, tiny foxing marks and some color variation on dyed top of text block, very light browning to fore-edge and bottom of text block, area of shelf soiling on bottom of book, very small bump at bottom corner of boards, wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, slight fading to spine color and gold spine lettering, minor rubbing, 1/4" closed tear at top edge of front board. Book is protected in a stiff mylar sleeve.

261 pp, 6 5/8" H. Full leather binding with five raised bands on spine, elaborate gilt decoration on spine and front/rear boards, all edges gilt, integral ribbon bookmark. Pale yellow endpapers, verso of title page blank with printer's information at bottom of page 261. No publisher's advertisements. Contains: Enid; Vivien; Elaine; Guinevere. Non-authorial inscription on blank page following free front endpaper: "To my Dearest wife: / Wedding Day / 1859". A few tiny foxing marks on endpapers and on preliminary pages, five page leaves with a tiny crease at top corner, very light wear on edges, hinges and banding.
