357 pp, 7 3/4" H. Black cloth with gilt lettering/decoration (faded) on spine. One of an edition of 2,000 copies. Contents: Foreword; Schalken the Painter; Squire Toby's Will; Green Tea; Wicked Captain Walshaw, of Wauling; Carmilla; The Sexton's Adventure; Madam Crowl's Ghost; Sir Dominick's Bargain; The Vision of Tom Chuff; Ultor De Lacy; Dickon the Devil; The House in Augier Street; Mr. Justice Harbottle; The Familiar. Small contemporary bookseller's label on rear pastedown - "The Holliday Bookshop 49E.49th St., New York". Very light browning to endpapers, minor toning to edges of pages, small label from bookstore on rear pastedown, two small creases at bottom corner of page leaf 287/288, light browning to edges of text block - tiny soiling mark on fore-edge, light wear and wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, minor edge wear to boards, minor rubbing on boards, small shallow dent on front board. Book is protected in a stiff mylar sleeve.

Very light browning to endpapers, light toning to pages - mainly in margins, three very small corner bumps, scattered small very faint liquid marks and light rubbing on boards, light browning to edges of text block - darker on top of text block, wear at top of spine including a small piece missing, light wear at bottom of spine.
