First six volumes of the Myth Series - with the first four books in a publisher's slipcase - 6 3/4" H. 1. Another Fine Myth - 200 pp, 1984 3rd printing, ISBN 0441023606 - "Skeeve was a magician's apprentice, until an assassin hired by an ancient enemy struck and his master was dead. Skeeve suddenly found himself alone with Aahz, a purple-tongued demon the old magician had summoned from another dimension as a practical joke just before he was killed. Aahz had lost his powers, Skeeve had lost his job. So together, they set out through a universe populated by Deveels (or devils), Imps, dragons, unicorns and more, looking for a way to get even." 2. Myth Conceptions - 217 pp, 1986 5th printing, ISBN 0441555209 - "Skeeve was summoned to the court of Roderick the Fifth of Possiltum to audition for the position of Court Magician. Unfortunately for everyone, he got the job. How was Aahz going to help Skeeve defend a kindgom against the mightiest invading army in the world? With his pet dragon Gleep and bewitching green-haired Tanda standing by, Skeeve waited for Aahz to come up with a solution. The problem was, if they won they would be executed - and if they lost they would be killed. What kind of magik could beat those odds?" 3. Myth Directions - 202 pp, 1985 1st printing, ISBN 044155525X - "The Trophy was unique, no question. It was easily the ugliest object Skeeve had ever seen in any dimension. And before landing his job as Court Magician, young Skeeve had seen a thing or two. But Tanda wanted it - and, as a rule, whatever the beautiful Tanda wants, Tanda gets. The problem is, getting it will take more than luck. It will take all the talents of a young but gifted magician, a scaley but canny Pervect, and a charming demon not above a little interdimensional thievery." 4. Hit or Myth - 170 pp, 1985 4th printing, ISBN 0441338518 - "King Roderick takes a powder - leaving Skeeve in his place to marry his homicidal fiancee Hemlock and face the tender mercies of Bruce, the Mob's fairy godfather who wants Skeeve working for him - or not at all. On top of that, Aahz has taken a forced vacation, a two-ton demon has a crush of Skeeve, and both Possiltum and Deva are about to be invaded." 5. Mything Persons - 172 pp, 1987 2nd printing, ISBN 0441552765 - "(Skeeve's) partner Aahz has disappeared and it looks like foul play. Finding Aahz ought to be a snap for a talented magician like Skeeve, especially with a sassy apprentice and a dumb but brawny bodyguard along for the ride. The trouble is, they're sleuthing in another dimension: a strange and chilly realm where day is night and humans are considered monsters. Add a murder rap, a couple of vampires, and the fact that magic doesn't work here, and you've got a trio in real hot water!" 6. Little Myth Marker - 167 pp, 1987 1st printing, ISBN 0441484999 - "(Skeeve) bluffs his way into a high-stakes game of dragon poker and, by some miracle, wins. Then, still flush with luck, (he) heads straight for the king of dragon poker, the Sen-Sen Ante Kid. And with a pot of half a million, there'd better not be any myth-deals. But even if Skeeve can hold his own in a high-stakes game, there's still Markie. Left as a pint-sized IOU by a player who went broke, she conjures a house full of trouble every time she tries to cast a spell. And to top it off, jealous magicians have hired the notorious assassin, The Axe, to cut more than the deck - ." Volumes 1-8 & 10 of the TimeWars Series, 6 7/8" H. The series revolves around a 27th century organization tasked with preventing time travellers from altering history. In the books, many people & events we consider fictional are real and vice versa and there are many references to famous literature and authors. 1. The Ivanhoe Gambit - 209 pp, 1984 first printing, ISBN 0441377629 - Sometimes Sergeant Major Lucas Priest wondered why he had enlisted in the U.S. Army Temporal Corps. Fighting in the Time Wars wasn't the easiest way to make a living. But a demented scheme to impersonate the King of England was threatening to change the course of history. Two army teams had already failed to intercept the madman. So Lucas and his men must clock back to the twelfth century to try and prevent an irreversible split in time." 2. The Timekeeper Conspiracy - 215 pp, 1984 second printing, ISBN 0441811361 - "Captain Lucas Priest, a seasoned veteran of the Temporal Corps, was dispatched to seventheenth century France. In the world of Cardinal Richelieu and the Three Musketeers, he must infiltrate the terrorist underground called the Timekeepers and put an end to their mad schemes forever." 3. The Pimpernel Plot - 211 pp, 1985 second printing, ISBN 0441664105 - Now Lucas is faced with the greatest challenge of his career: to readjust the events of the French Revolution and correct the blunder made by an agent of the Temporal Corps. Alex Corderro, in his first hitch in Minus Time, had caused the death of Sir Percy Blakeney, the English aristocrat who played a key role in saving French royalists from the guillotine. Someone had to impersonate Blakeney and carry out his task." 4. The Zenda Vendetta - 206 pp, 1985 first printing, ISBN 0441959156 - "In the kingdom of Ruritania, Prince Rudolf is about to be crowned king. Instead, due to the machinations of his half brother, he becomes the 'Prisoner of Zenda'. That was back in the 19th century. But history is about to repeat itself - with a twist. The Timekeepers, the terrorist underground from the 27th century, have traveled backward once again to try to sabotage the course of history." 5. The Nautilus Sanction - 196 pp, 1985 first printing, ISBN 0441565662 - "(T)he Nautilus, a Russian supersub armed with enough nuclear firepower to blow history apart at the seams, has been hijacked from the 27th century. Priest and his commandos clock back to pursue the sub, and come face-to-face with a man whose thirst for revenge is so great he would start the greatest war of all time - everywhere at once! To stop him, the Time Commandos have only the help of the Canadian fisherman, Ned Land, and a middle-aged French writer of voyages extraordinaires named Jules Verne - ." 6. The Khyber Connection - 195 pp, 1986 first printing, ISBN 04414375257 - "The year was 1897. The Khyber Pass echoed with the sounds of war. Soldiers from Britain, India, and Afghanistan were immersed in a bloody conflict. Enter the Time Commandos. Their mission: To foil a plot that has set timelines on a collision course. Only they can save the timestream from disruption - with a little help from a war correspondent named Winston Churchill - and a waterboy called Gunga Din." 7. The Argonaut Affair - 195 pp, 1987 first printing, ISBN 0441029116 - "A creature of Greek myth appears in the 27th century - proving that something is seriously wrong down the timeline! The Temporal Intelligence Agency fear an oncoming disaster of staggering proportions. Delaney, Cross, and their new partner Steiger clock back to the age of gods, monsters and heroes - into the heart of an epic quest. Lost in a legendary time and place, the future of two universes is in their hands!" 8. The Dracula Caper - 212 pp, 1988 first printing, ISBN 0441166164 - "A plague of vampires and werewolves falls on Victoria's England - but there's nothing supernatural about these creatures. They're genetically engineered monsters from the far future, dropped into the past as a devilish tactic in the Time Wars! It's a mystery more baffling than any penned by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - a cosmic riddle to stagger the imagination of the great H.G. Wells. Soon the creators of Sherlock Holmes and 'The Time Machine' join forces with the Time Commandos to combat an ageless evil which strains the very fabric of the universe!". 10. The Hellfire Revolution - 192 pp, 1990 first printing, ISBN 0441812627 - "Boston, 1765. The freedom-fighting Sons of Liberty are under attack by a Tory secret society called the Hellfire Club. His plot to assassinate Sam Adams, Ben Franklin and George Washington will detroy every dream of the Thirteen Colonies - and cancel the United States of America! 164 pp, 8 1/8" H. "How would the history of the world have differed had Stalin perished at the hands of an assassin? Not at the hands of a German but of a patriotic Russian who, like General Andrei Vlasov and hundreds of thousands of others, loathed the Bolshevik regime and the Georgian dictator enough to welcome the Wehrmacht as liberators. Not only love of Russia, but a passionate need to avenge the atrocities inflicted on his family drove Lt Feodor Makhailovich Savrin to volunteer for the mission, calmly accepting the certain fate of torture and death. Although the operation was doomed from the outset - betrayed by a highly-placed 'mole' in the SS - Savrin penetrated the Kremlin's security and lay in wait for Stalin to pass by. 331 pp, 9 1/2" H. Wonderful wraparound cover art by Alan Lee. "A mysterious house in the remote Yorkshire moors awaits sixteen-year-old Fern and her brother Will for the summer holidays. Their hearts sink at the coming weeks of boredom, but as the old house gradually gives up its secrets their familiar world starts to fracture, giving access to a magical and corrupt land destroyed thousands of years ago. Outside on the moors a standing stone watches the house, but not always from the same place; inside, a sinister statue comes to malevolent life. At night, strange creatures seek to enter. And as their lives are invaded by the fantastical, Ferm finds herself courted by the enigmatic wanderer, Ragginbone, and the sinister art-dealer, Javier Holt, for they know that she has the Gift: a unique and powerful talent for magic not seen for ten thousand years. Hidden in the house is a talisman which has been sought by the forces of good and evil for millennia. A talisman so powerful that it can be used to shape time, to destroy civilizations, perhaps even conquer death. And only someone possessed of the Gift can use it. As events race to a desperate and fatal climax, Fern and Will must decide who, and what, to believe." Very tiny bump at bottom of spine. Dust jacket has very minor edge wrinkling.

"The question 'What if the South had won the Civil War?' is one that has long fascinated and intrigued historians and enth usiasts of Americ an history. (This book) explores that very question, revealing exactly how history could have been dramatically altered forever. Each chapter, written by a leading military historian, plays out a series of convincing scenarios, b ased on real battl es, actions and characters, where at points of decision a different choice or minor incident sets in motion an entirely new train of events which could ultimately have led to a Confederate victory. What if Sherman had been sta l le d outside Atlanta, or Lincoln had lost the crucial 1864 election? Or if Stuart's Cavalry at Gettysburg had arrived in time to give Lee the freedom of operation he lacked in reality? These and many more thought-provoking questions are examined a gai nst the dramatic an d colourful backdrop of this critical and bloody era of American history."
